My Education Philosophy Essay - 516 Words

My Educational philosophy is defined in becoming a teacher as a set of ideas and beliefs about education that guide the professional behavior of educators. Also included in educational philosophy are one’s beliefs about teaching and learning, students, knowledge and what is worth knowing. My five general purposes for philosophy of education are: to set goals of plan, to teach useful and relevant information, be aware of students learning styles, modeling positive cooperative behavior, to look for solutions and to make sure those solutions are working. I believe that teaching and learning is both a science and an art, which requires the implementation of already determined rules. I see learning as the result of internal forces within†¦show more content†¦By extending my personal growth in reading, discussing, writing and reflecting the curriculum will be meaningful to the student and make student’s well-rounded. I believe that people are good and will work in their own best. Education should focus on the individuality of students and that each student should find his or her own meaning of existence. I was so moved by the movie Radio and the inspirational message. I have seen many children who have been discriminated and mistreated, as a result affected their self-esteem and their well-being. The story has a deep touching realization that anyone can see if they only open their eyes and see life for what it really is. It’s up to us and through compassion we can unlock the true purpose and meaning of ourselves and others. We need to be open and understanding of people who are different. Therefore, students who struggle of poor mentally challenged need to be befriended by someone who is willing to make a difference in their lives. We definitely need more people like the coach. Honestly, how is intelligence measured? If we only measure students IQ in reading and math logic it would be unjust for the student. The students need to be measured on many levels other than reading and math as it was reflected within the movie; one can bring many aspects of intelligence forth.
